OK FINE WE CAN HAVE AN END OF 2014 LIST GOD

YES HERE WE ARE AGAIN YOU THOUGHT WE WERE DEAD AND MAYBE WE WERE BUT NOW WE ARE BACK AGAIN but yeah this one is late too no surprises there really.

By all accounts, 2014 was balls-out insane, starting with #SochiProblems and ending with #ICantBreathe. Personally, The first half of the year consisted of somehow managing to snag a Biology degree (cue Final Fantasy victory music) and the rest of the year was spent working nights. 2014 was an amazing year in heavy noisy music, and without further ado, here are the year's best from the local scene's finest musicians that responded to emails and/or posted a list on facebook that I am summarily pirating here:

Boo Dudes #1 forever

Kayhan Vaziri (Coliseum, Yautja, Choking on Ash) -

As for me, I listened to a lot of great and a few awful records, but probably missed more than I heard. As such, I'm just going to go with a top 3 this year.
#3: Lord Mantis' "Death Mask"

This album just fires on all cylinders for me. It does fast right, it does slow right, and it mixes it up perfectly with an unexpected robot voice and perhaps even more unexpected melodic lines rounding out this powerful album. Even as a whole the album has a fantastic package feel, and is satisfying to the last putrid drop.

#2: Couch Slut's "My Life as a Woman"

2014 has been a year of incredible social exposition if not outright change. After a number of events, 2014 was the year I started to call myself a feminist. This album goes a long way in making the listener really feel the horrific reality many women face today in modern America, if not all over the world. I defy you to listen to the track "Rape Kit" without saying "holy shit" or "oh my fucking god". Also hella NSFW art, so much so that I'm still waiting on my copy because printer's have backed out of printing the artwork.

#1 Clipping's "CLPPNG"

ZOMG THAT'S RIGHT IT'S A HIP HIP ALBUM BITCHES BETCHA DIDNT SEE THAT COMING "BUT WAIT THIS IS A METAL REVIEW SITE WHAT THE FUCKSHIT ARE YOU DOING" THIS ALBUM IS 100% HOOD ASS NOISE HIP HOP BITCHES IT IS UNBELIEVABLE IT IS SO GOOD I CAN'T STOP YELLING THEY HAVE A SONG BASED AROUND A GODDAMN ALARM CLOCK THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THIS RECORD IT IS THE BEST DAMN THING RELEASED IN 2014 AND EVEN THE VINYL RECORD HAS A SICK ASS SPLATTER PATTERN YOU CAN ONLY SEE IF YOU HOLD IT UP TO THE LIGHT

AIGHT WE DONE TIL NEXT YEAR PEACE OUT
